The Common House

Purpose-designed for friends, family or colleagues. Glass doors fold back to sheltered decks, linking to bathrooms, laundry, six double bedrooms, the grounds. No walls – the furnishings move!  The Common House can comfortably seat up to 70 people for dinner and then dancing. Facilities are chef friendly: a stainless cooking and prep scullery and an open kitchen. Two ovens, 2 fridges, 2 dishwashers and a full complement of quality pots and pans, table settings, platters and bowls. Self-cater or we can arrange a chef on your behalf.

 

The Library

Once the homestead's lounge, the book-lined Library is free-standing now. The little building with its woodwork, its fireplace and views make a delightful room. Share the Main Bathroom.

 

 

The Bunkhouse, North and South

Two large rooms straddle and share a bathroom and an outdoor shower. Both rooms have a wood-burning fireplaces, sweeping views and detached privacy. North has the only King bed.

 

The Cabanas

Three little free-standing rooms, each with an extendable awning over its own outside deck overlooking native bush. Running water and ice chest, luggage storage and WiFi. Views out across Big Bush to the seaward Kaikouras. Share Main Bathroom.

Giving shape to this place. Arrival and orientation, sight lines and views, screening cars and utilities, provision for both open sunny places and private spaces.

 

Details count

Bed linens are crisp cotton. Pillows from which to choose. Blankets of wool or feather duvets. Bedside reading lights. BBQ gas or wood fire (Argentine parilla style). In the kitchen are big pots and skillets, cutlery and glassware, huge cupboards ready for our guests' food and beverages. Fully self-contained.
